Parksville, BC, Canada, October 10, 2019 – The latest addition to one of Canada’s most
popular family-style restaurant chains, Ricky’s All Day Grill, opened in Parksville on October 10 at 1182 Island Highway East, conveniently located beside the Arbutus Grove Motel.
So whether you’re a hotel guest or a local resident hankering to dig into Canada’s best
breakfast, enjoy a delicious lunch or dinner, or relish thirst-quenching cocktails and scrumptious appetizers after a hard day’s work, your wait is over.
The newest addition to Ricky’s family is owned by Ken and Jackie Aarbo with their daughter Rayelle acting as the general manager. As proprietors of the Arbutus Grove Motel since 2003, the Aarbo family was always interested in adding a restaurant since as Ken Aarbo says “motels and restaurants go together like bread and butter”. Ricky’s was a natural fit for both the Aarbo family and the Parksville community, with the focus on family and a quality focused menu.
The stylish 4,200 square-foot upscale casual restaurant and bar will comfortably seat up to 130 and employ approximately 35 staff.
Inside the restaurant it’s all about West Coast comfort in this open concept layout with nautical inspired décor. Outside, guests will find plenty of free parking adjacent to the restaurant for their convenience. And there is even a walkway build specifically to make it easy for guests of the Arbutus Grove Motel to visit Ricky’s, just steps away.
Ricky’s has been famous for breakfasts since 1962. Ricky’s delicious breakfast menu includes favourites like Eggs Benedict, and our signature Brekkie-Bowls. Ricky’s has also become a neighbourhood favourite for lunch and dinner. Lunch has everything you want with mouthwatering sandwiches and fresh never frozen ½lb Certified Alberta Angus Beef Burgers.
Dinner has all your comfort foods and classics, with new foodie choices like authentic Global Bowls, delectable Rigatoni Rose with Chorizo and hand-and-beer battered Ocean Wise Fish & Chips. And when you’re looking up for a special treat, make sure to check out the ice cream bar at Ricky’s Parksville, where you can indulge in classic and gourmet milkshakes, soft serve cones and ice cream sundaes – all available for dine-in our take-out.
Ricky’s is all about families. Not only is there a terrific kids menu that features delicious and hearty options, there is also fun and exciting activities for kids of all ages featuring Panko the Pug. Check out our placemat board game that the whole family can play, or flip it over for a cute colouring sheet for the little ones, plus a secret treasure chest where kids can pick out their own special prize.
“We are pleased to serve Ricky’s family favourites amid friendly surroundings to our hotel guests and the general public,” said Ken Aarbo, the new Ricky’s franchisee. “We welcome folks who have dined before at a Ricky’s, as well as those unfamiliar with the restaurant chain, to give
it a try. We guarantee they’ll find something they like on our extensive menu.”
“We are delighted to add Parksville to our growing chain of family-style restaurants and know it will be a popular place for travelers and locales alike to gather,” said Stacey Hansson, senior vice president of Ricky's Family-Style Restaurants.
The addition of the Arbutus Grove Motel increases the number of Ricky’s hotel locations to 23.
